Joanne Toouli
Joanne began learning the violin when she was 3 years old. She graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music (2004) and Masters of Music (2006). During this time, Joanne studied with Goetz Richter and Jemima Littlemore. She attended the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria in 2005 assisted by the Sydney Moss Traveling Scholarship.
Joanne has performed in various ensembles including the Sydney Philharmonia Choir Orchestra, Sydney Symphony’s Sinfonia, and Australian Youth Orchestra programmes as well as accompanying many diverse performers such as Judy Bailey, Katie Noonan, Burt Bacharach and Michael Bublé. Joanne has also recorded for film and television. In 2007 she was a member of the Pacific Opera Orchestra and performed at the Flametree Festival as part of the Festival Chamber Orchestra. Joanne is a member of ConTango string group that performs traditional Argentinean tango music.
In 2008 Joanne will further her studies by attending the Nice Summer Academy in France.
