Eleanor Witt

Eleanor has completed a Bachelor of Music Studies in Voice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She has been a professional singer for six years and has taught singing since 2007. She is the winner of numerous eisteddfods and singing competitions, and has been selected for many prestigious courses including the Young Australian Opera Singers’ master class (with Suzanne Johnson) and several seasons of A Midsummer Opera. She was a guest singer with The Song Company during the 2009 Stockhausen festival, has stage managed a number of professional musical productions and is currently preparing the role of Joanna for the Sydney University Musical Theatre Ensemble’s upcoming production of Sweeney Todd. She also currently performs in an indie/pop duo with Matt McGuigan and with the blues band The Vandemonians.

Prior to university, Eleanor was a member of the Sydney Children’s Choir for eleven years and was also a member of the national choir, Gondwana Voices. She toured Europe and Japan with the choir and performed in many professional choir engagements including the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games, at a concert honouring his Holiness the Dalai Lama, and in Michael Leunig’s Parables Lullabies and Secrets, with Neil Finn and Richard Tognetti.

Eleanor has also been acting since 1993 and her work includes film roles in The Matrix and Dark City, various TV commercials, and TV shows (including Denton, Fox Cubs, Don’t Blame Me, and Home and Away), and modelling for catalogues and posters.
