Wendy majored in composition at La Trobe University before completing her Honours year at Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide. She is currently undertaking postgraduate study in computer music composition at University of Wollongong.
Her instrumental and choral works have been performed in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and regional centres around eastern Australia, in a wide variety of settings from art galleries, dedicated concert spaces, to cafes and outdoor performances. Several performances of her computer music works have taken place in Florida and New York, USA.
As a community musician, Wendy has been Musical Director of POW Circus, Melbourne, and Composer in Residence at the Jika Jika Community Centre, Melbourne, and regular workshop presenter at the Darebin Music Feast where participants have been playing her music for the Federation Bells.
Her professional composition achievements to date include the soundscapes to accompany art exhibitions, publication of her music by Redhouse Press and Publications by Wirripang (www.australiancomposers.com.au), and the broadcast on ABC Classic FM of her piano trio Carlin. Wendy’s works have been included in recently produced CD’s of Australian flute music, Australian computer music, and Australian contemporary classical music.
Wendy was born in 1954 and is currently residing in Wollongong, Australia. Wendy is a represented composer at the Australian Music Centre as well as a member of the Melbourne Composer’s League and the Federation of Australian Composers.
