Born in 1983, Paul was a Scholar at The Royal College of Music studying with David Sawer and Kenneth Hesketh before beginning a Masters in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music with Simon Bainbridge, supported by an Arts and Humanities Research Council Award, the Charles Black Fellowship and the Harvey Lohr award.
In November 2006 Bidding Prayers at Close of Day, winner of the Cobbitt and Hurlstone award at the RCM was given its European premiere at The Perpignan Contemporary Music Festival under the direction of its Artistic Director, Daniel Tosi.
In October 2007, as part of the Southbank Centre and the Royal Academy of Music’s Luigi Nono: Fragments of Venice festival for benjamin received its World premiere and a portfolio of works was chosen to represent the Royal Academy of Music in the Theodore Holland Composition Prize. Recent performances include Chorodea presented by CoMA London as part of the Spitalfields Festival, both in June 2008 and For there will be no night, a song cycle for soprano, bass doubling alto flute and piano will receive its World premiere in Perpignan, again under the direction of Daniel Tosi.
