Matthew McGuigan

Matthew McGuigan currently divides his time between Sydney and Vaduz, where he shares a studio with fellow composers Mario Frick, Yves Oehri and Fabio D'Elia. Fälschung Studios is a centre for electronic experimentation and instrumental advancement.  While in Sydney he is studying under the tutelage of Alexander J. Pozniak, taking classes in noise construction, electronic method applications and convoluted rhythm processes. He has been a recipient of the Otmar Hasler Award for Composition in 2005 and also included in the official selection of the Annual Schann Music Prize for his large scale orchestral work 'Forged History' (2006). He has recently written the score for a silent feature film by Benjamin Fischer entitled 'For God, Prince and Fatherland'; And has combined music and art in a cycle of installations currently showing in the Kunstmuseum in Vaduz.  The first series of recordings from the Fälschung Studios (which include collaborations with Yves Oehri and Mario Frick) will be available on the Phonygraph Label early 2009.
