Chronology arts are young, ambitious, diligent and tireless, however youth and energy alone cannot sustain an arts business!
It is critical that we build a sustainable base if we are to survive into the future and we are planning to generate income through a combination of government grants (from relevant arts funding bodies), ticket sales, corporate sponsorships and donations.

This is where you can help!

With support from donors, we would be able to commission music by up and coming composers and this the best possible way we can nurture and develop new work.  The commissioning rates depend on the individual composer, but we are happy to talk with you in more detail about how it all works.  To give you an example, a young composer may be commissioned to write a 5 minute piece for a string quartet for a cost of $500.

Your donation can also help us cover the costs of staging quality, well rehearsed performances throughout the year.  Already the generous support we have received from donors has made the critical difference in our ability to get shows planned and staged.

Performances are the best way to profile the work of new composers and create opportunities for musicians.  Chronology Arts works with many musicians who are graduates from the Conservatorium of Music eagerly looking for ways to gain performing experience. We provide a unique and important avenue for them to build profile and audiences. At our concert on 13th of December 2007, we profiled the work of 10 composers, performed by 20 musicians under the age of 30, and we have 8 concerts planned for 2008.

Make a donation

We have registered with the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) so that people who share our dreams for the development of new music can make a tax deductible donation to AbaF’s Australia Cultural Fund.  When you donate to AbaF you can nominate Chronology Arts as your preferred recipient. The AbaF Board will take that preference into consideration when making grants.
This is a great program for groups of artists like us – to date more than $2.5 million has been donated to AbaF and granted to artists and cultural organisations around Australia.
All you need to do is download this donation form and send it to AbaF, and AbaF staff will notify us that a gift has been made. For more information about AbaF’s Australia Cultural Fund go to: http://www.abaf.org.au/giving/acf.html
